Our Team: Our Team

I have worked in this center for almost 8 years but in the spring of 2016 I went from being "just a teacher" to owning/running it when my boss at the time offered it to me. Obviously I agreed and the story of Pine Knoll as we know it today began. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to and enjoyed working with children. Whether it be through a church nursery, vacation bible school, or just babysitting neighbor's kids it is what I always did in my spare time.

You hear it said that if you find a job that you love you'll never have to work a day in your life, and that is so true for me. Yes, it is our job as teachers to teach them, but to say I haven't learned more from them than I could ever teach is a lie. There is so much to be learned by just observing the tiny humans in our lives. Their innocent view of the world, genuine love for others, and freedom to be themselves is inspiring. I'm the one that you'll often catch sitting in the floor with the kids playing, having conversations with them about whatever it is they want to talk about,  or braiding someone's hair when you walk through our doors because I desire more than anything to build a connection with these kids in a way that makes them feel comfortable and safe because that is truly the only way that they will effectively learn from me anyways. I am not a mom but I am a "Mimi" to two little boys and I wouldn't trade that for anything this world could offer to me. I also raise our school pet, Pine, the bunny and I have a rescue cat named Montgomery (Monty). It is a great honor and privilege to welcome you to our little piece of the world! I hope you choose to stay awhile because we would love to get to know you and your family more!
